I am SO excited to meet all of you! This semester is all about the #LEVELUP. That's right, we're taking it to the next level. Read 180 is a required class for students who have Lexile scores below grade level before entering 9th Grade Literature. Students last year went up one-two grade levels on average! You get the extra support you need to be successful. We boost our Lexile scores through daily independent reading (books of your choice!), daily writing and vocabulary practice, individualized software activities, multimedia projects, small group reading and activities, and class discussions. This isn't your average English class. We have workshops that range from financial literacy and starting a business, to space exploration, artificial intelligence technologies, career exploration, art, music, history, social issues, and so much more! You will not only learn reading, writing, and speaking skills--but you will also learn more about yourself and how you can develop the skills necessary to be successful in all subjects of school. Some skills that we'll be focusing on this semester:
