Recap of Thursday and Friday:
What's coming up for Week 1:
What is the Reading Inventory and how does it affect my placement? The Scholastic Reading Inventory measures your Lexile score (reading level). We take this test during the first full week of school to determine that you are correctly placed. If your Lexile is on or above grade level, you will get moved into an open 9th Grade Literature section during the same block in which you had Read 180. If you were scheduled to take 9th Grade Literature in the spring semester, it will just be replaced with a different class. The 2019 9th grade Lexile starts at 1100. What if I was already in 9th Grade Literature, but I was moved into Read 180? If you were initially in 9th Grade Literature this semester and you were moved into Read 180, this means your Lexile score from the Reading Inventory you took in 9th Grade Literature was identified as below grade level. You are now required to take Read 180 before you take 9th Grade Literature. You will take 9th Grade Literature in the spring semester instead. Feel free to email me or send me a text via REMIND with any questions! -Miss Mueller |
